All alone in a world so full of people

There she sat. On a bench in the middle of the Town Plaza. All alone in a world so full of people. It sucked when you were the new kid around town. Even though she really wasn't that much of a kid anymore. Sydney was now nineteen and living life to the fullest. Well until her dad made them move.

Even though she was nineteen and practically richer than anyone she still lived at home. She felt it was the least she could do for her dad. Ever since it happened. She didn't like talking about it because it brought tears to her eyes. A few years back her mom and two siblings died. The worst part? It was her fault. Her dad didn't need to know that though.

She decided living at home was best for her father and her for the most part. So that meant he moved, so did she. The worst part of moving? Not knowing anyone from where you were going.

So there she sat looking around at all the cute couples, holding hands talking about their days and how their life was going, all the kids running around trying to catch bugs. She had to admit her knew home was pleasant. If only someone would take the time to see her, maybe she would have a friend.

drunk, i stumbled into the square. the sun was setting, and the crowds were thinning, but that's when it was the best time to be out, especially with all the clubs opening up.

i looked around, my eyes foggy, my mind slow, and i worked my way over the the nearest bench. everyone was moving -- quickly hurrying on their way home before the drunks, like me, came prowling out. most weren't harmful, but you can never be too careful -- except a young girl sitting on a bench about ten feet away from me.

i eyed her curiously, not recognizing her. she must be new; i knew almost every girl in this city, or at least by face anyway.

i looked away, probably realizing too late that she had caught me staring and thought me creepy, but i couldn't keep my eyes off her. persistant curiousity still pricked at me.

"hey," i called out, my words slow and slurred.

As if the world was spinning faster the day had flown. I hadn't even noticed the change in dimming light. I guess time flew by when you were thinking and observing. I still didn't understand why everyone was leaving so quickly. Night time was the best time to be at parks. The street lights lit up like little stars and the crickets chirped away marrily.

The sound came from close by. I turned to see a guy. He looked kinda scruffy as if he were drunk. He appeared out of no where. I didn't remember seeing anyone come up but then again I really wasn't paying a attention. This could be the best opportunity to meet someone new. And hey, he was kind of cute. Just another plus right?

I smiled politely and said, "Hi. I don't believe I know you."

i snorted, her comment amusing. at least she didn't seem creeped out by me. in fact, she looked charming and sweet. she had a dazzling smile that shone even in the dimming light.

i stood up and swerved over to her, dragging my feet, then plopped down next to her. "of course you don't know me. but can i have a name to think of you by, instead of new girl?" i smiled, luring her in with charm and witty words.
well, my words were most likely not witty at this very moment, considering all the alchohol in my blood. but i wondered if this added to the flirty attitude, instead of seeming grostque.

I smiled brightly. This guy sure had charm. I couldn't help but giggle. He was surely drunk, but you know, some drunk guys can keep themselves in tact. Let's hope he was one of them. His apperience was gorgeous in the dark. His blonde hair had a way of curving across his face just so. It barely just reached his eyebrows. He looked like a classic surfer. I pray to God right now that he didn't act like one though. I hate their hawaiiness.

I chuckled one last time before speeking. "I don't know. Can you have a name to remember me by? But then, if you know my name we have a delema. I won't know yours." I teased. Playin around with guys was almost the best thing ever invented.

i licked my lips impatiently. so she was teasing me, well two could play at that game. i smirked, my lips curving just so. i flipped my blonde hair to the side and caught her eye.

"but i'll tell you my name after you tell me yours. deal?" my lips widened into a smile. i had to work more charm in there. i had to keep up the cute act. it was all just an innocent game. maybe then she'd tell me her name.

i moved closer. "please?" i had the look of a puppy dog. i was just playing around. i wasn't really that immature.

i leaned away, as to not to intimidate her, and my breath was probably rank from all the alcohol. i didn't want to scare her away.

His cute act was actually quite adorable. Although his breath smelt deaply of alcohol. I was used to it though. Ever sinse, well, the incident happened my dad drank. A LOT.

As he scooted away I scooted closer. I smiled. It felt as if it lit up the whole park. "Only if you promise to give me your name." I laughed when he nodded like a little kid agreeing to clean their room so they could have candy. One of those nods that meant the person wasn't going to do it but wanted the present. I giggled at the random thought that popped into my head.

Although his nod said something, I knew he would keep to his word. So I smiled and said, "My name is Sydney. Your turn."

I smiled once again. What was it about this guy that made me so giggly. It was like he had powers or something that could lighten the mood.

I moved in closer, seeing she showed now signs of being shy. And I obviously wasn't going to scare her off. I guess my charm was working. A smile crept up on my face again and I placed my arm behind her back so I could lean in towards her.

"Sydney's a nice name, and you're cute, but I'm afraid you'll have to do more than that to get a name outta me." I grinned mischieviously as I stared teasingly into her blue eyes. Blue. Blue was a nice color. Very pretty.

I exhaled, my hot breath making dew droplets appear on her cool skin, a consequence from the night, which was slowly dropping degrees.

I giggled. Oh I had known it. I knew I wouldn't get a name out of him for nothing. Feeling his arm slip behind me i leaned in and layed my head on his shoulder. Flirting was like second nature to me.

I couldn't help but wonder how far he would take this. Then again why should i wonder when I could just know. Looking up into his face I muttered, "And exactly what would it be that I have to do to know your name? It would be a shame to have to leave and not know who I had been talking to all this time."

I put a little innocent look on my face. Flirting was one thing. But flirting with someone who has alcohol in their system is wayy more fun. I giggled and put my head back on his chest. Damn did he smell good. If you ignored the alcohol anyway. He smelt kind of woody. A natural good smell.

i nodded, agreeing with her. "yes, it would be a shame, so maybe i'll just tell you." i whispered into her ear, my lips moving against her soft hair. "i'm jason." i exhaled slowly and pulled away a little.

"so do you ever do anything for fun? have you ever been to a club? we should go to a club tonight, they are way fun." i grinned drunkenly, my smile crooked and my words still messy.

i loved how she put her head against my chest. it felt natural. of course, it did with every girl. i suddenly felt guilty, remembering who i was. i was a player. and this was just harmless flirting, but what if it possibly turned into more?

sydney was different from any other girl i met. she flirted just as well, but... she was still different. she had a light other girls didn't.

Hmm. Jason was a nice name. But wait that was way too easy. It wasn't even fun getting it out of him. "Hmm. Jason is a cute name. I must say though that wasn't very hard to get out of you. It should have been more fun."

I giggled. I felt so relaxed with him. When he breathed my head slowly moved up and down. It was almost too relaxing as if I could fall asleep. Alarms started going off in my head. This wasn't good. I couldn't fall like this. But I could still have some fun. Maybe possibly a lot of fun.

Having fun was my middle name until, it happened. After that I gave up on fun and took to taking care of my father. "I used to be a complete party animal. Ha not even lying. Until..." I dropped off instantly. He couldn't know about this. I didn't even know him. Well I knew his name but that was it.

I sat up and hugged my knees into my chest and looked up at the stars trying to choke back tears. I could always stay strong if I thought of something else. In the time span of a few seconds I forced myself to think of the whole day and night. Just like that I was feeling strong again.

I smiled, biding my time, enjoying myself. "Well, pretend you don't know my name yet, and try to force it out of me," I laughed at the idea. What things would she come up with to 'force' it out of me?

But the she was quiet after she had mentioned fun. Did I say something wrong? No. She was clearly thinking of something else. I was silent for a few heartbeats before I said, "Until what? Or is that rude to ask?" I gave her a small smile this time, gentle, sympathetic and prodding.

I twitched at the thought of him wanting to know. I tear ran down my face. That was all thought because I abruptly thought of something else. I turned to him once again. "It was rude I just don't really want to talk about it kay? So what exactly am I being forced to do to get that name of yours?" I giggled.

I was silent for a moment, but I didn't press. Whatever it was, she obviously wasn't comfortable talking about it. And she had barely met me, anyway. I couldn't expect too much from her on the first night of us meeting.

So I picked right back up on her happy, outgoing mood. I laughed, an idea forming in my mind. "How about a simple kiss on the cheek?" I asked softly, smiling gently now. I caressed her upper arm, my fingers strumming across her soft skin, as if I was playing a slow song.

I giggled. A kiss on the cheek. That was so over rated. He wanted more and we both knew it. I had to think of some way to just drive him mad. Or just simply tease him a bit.

A kiss on the cheek? I thought about it for a few seconds. "I'm not sure if a kiss on the cheek would get me anything. What would happen if I gave you that kiss on the cheek and you asked for more?" I giggled.

Oh what the heck. I leaned in and pecked him on the cheek. I slowly brushed my nose against his cheek and inch by inch moved closer to his mouth. Then just like that kissed the edge of his mouth. He began to move in but I moved out in time. I laughed and put on a big smile.

"I don't know, that seemed pretty worthy of a name don't you think?" I said with a sly joking tone in my voice.
